South Gloucestershire Council, in partnership with Network Rail, Great Western Railway and WECA, have developed an ambitious masterplan for the development of this area. The plan (available online) embodies a future vision and blueprint for change at Bristol Parkway over the next 10 years and beyond. It sets out the nature of the place that could emerge and the benefits that can be realised by radically rethinking the role, function and physical shape of the station and the area immediately surrounding it. It reimagines Bristol Parkway as a new destination complete with a new station, places to work, meet and gather and build communities, new parks and habitat.
The plan was adopted by the council in December – the next stage is to explore possible funding and delivery models for the various aspects, and to continue engaging with residents and other stakeholders as it develops.
The presentation will be given by Helen Young, Strategic Master Plan Lead, Place Department, South Gloucestershire Council, assisted by Jamie Tucker, an Associate Designer with Arup, who have kindly agreed to take us through the plan and answer your questions.
The talk will begin at 19:30. Invitations to sign up for the talk (no charge) will be emailed to members closer to the time.
