Creating Green Cloisters: 1st February 2023

The effects of global warming are most apparent in urban areas where hard surfaces abound. It’s well recognised that trees can provide a degree of respite from the sun and the rain. We need many more trees to be ready for the predictions but we’re running out of places to plant them in cities and they take quite a while to grow to a size that will give us the benefits we need for the future.

Michele Lavelle, a landscape architect whose practice is based in Bristol, explores a practical and scalable solution to mitigate the urban heat island effect so that we can continue to be comfortable in our towns and cities.

This Zoom meeting will start at 7.30pm. Members will be invited to the event by email.
