CIVIC DAY EVENT: An introduction to the HighWaterLine Project – using art, storytelling and history to ignite local solutions to flooding. Presented by Isobel Tarr
Isobel Tarr is a Bristol resident working with international artists and community organisers in order to involve other residents of Bristol’s flood-risk zones in a community-led public art project which will span around 10 miles of the city. It will take place in July.
Isobel will tell us of the solutions to flooding and resilience which the HighWaterLine project has uncovered through listening to a range of community members and experts, and examining oral histories of flooding. Then we will embark on a 30-minute interactive walk around some of the central Bristol flood risk zones as a ‘taster’ of the project’s performance finale in July when people from flood-risk neighbourhoods in Bristol will use art and storytelling to raise awareness of the flooding predicament and possible solutions.
