October update: The Council has approved the scheme to create office accommodation using shipping containers positioned within the historic walls. It was considered that the harm that would result from this approach would be outweighed by the public benefit. The Society was pleased that the offices will be serviced from inside the site and not from a new lay-by in Wapping Road, which the Society considered would cause danger to pedestrians.
