We have an ‘event of two halves’ on Thursday 27th February: Blue plaques and Bristol documentaries.
First, a PowerPoint presentation on blue plaques – learn about the work of the Bristol Civic Society’s Blue Plaques Panel and see the rich variety of commemorative tablets which adorn our city’s facades.
Then, a ‘Bristol Film Show’ – more of Gordon Young’s documentary films: Through Ticket to New York describes Brunel’s construction of the GWR and Renewal chronicles the recent demolition and reconstruction of the toll-houses of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Finally, a short film A Short History of Bristol.
Thursday 27th February, 7:30pm, Friends’ Meeting House, Hampton Road, Redland BS6 6JE
