Building the development at Redcliffe Wharf, that was first the subject of a planning application in December 2018, has not yet commenced. Recently, the developers proposed a slight increase in the size of the buildings in order to improve the viability of the scheme. Last August as we reported, the proposal was to increase the height of buildings alongside Redcliffe Parade, but this would have impeded valuable views of the Harbour and city centre. In November, a revised planning application 18/06060/LA was submitted, in which instead the height of the central building has been increased – see the before and after images below.
On the basis that the view from Redcliffe Parade is not impeded too much – see the main image above – the Society supports the planning application.
