This year we have decided to combine the Annual General Meeting and the Annual Design Awards. We have done this before, most notably at the SS Great Britain.
Members and friends are warmly invited to attend our 2022 AGM. It will be held on Tuesday 14th June at ‘The Mount Without’ (formerly the Church of St Michael on the Mount Without), St Michael’s Hill, Bristol BS2 8DT.
The evening will begin with an informal gathering in the crypt from 6.30pm onwards. There will be a pay bar (contactless payment only); buffet snacks will be provided. The formal business of the AGM will start at 7.30pm to be followed by the Design Awards.
The venue has been generously made available by the owner, Norman Routledge. You will have the opportunity to see the progress made in transforming this splendid but dilapidated and fire-damaged building into a performance and events space.
The Annual General Meeting
The Agenda will include:
- Annual Report from the Management Team
- Finance Report, and
- Election of officers and other Management Team members.
Nominations for officers and Management Team members must be sent to the secretary no later than 7th June; email secretary@bristolcivicsociety.org.uk.

The Design Awards
This popular and prestigious event has been held for over 25 years and celebrates the very best of new developments in Bristol. This year we have considered new buildings completed during 2021. To qualify, schemes have to be visible from public viewpoints and must make a positive contribution to the city of Bristol. We are grateful to Savills for sponsoring the Design Awards.
A reminder and more details will be sent out to members by email nearer the time, but no invitation or booking is needed – just turn up.
