Unite, who are the current owners have not so far proceeded with their appeal against the planning refusal of their first planning application nor for the non-determination of their second. They have not challenged either the Grade II listing of the Chapel nor the extension of the St. James Parade Conservation Area. There was a reliable report first that Unite had marketed the site and then that they were planning a revised proposal that mixed residential accommodation with student accommodation. At January 2019, the building’s future remains unclear.
