You are invited to the launch of Bristol Walking Alliance, a new alliance of organisations campaigning to improve Bristol’s walking environment. Bristol Civic Society is a member.
This is a chance for local people, voluntary groups, policy makers, transport planners, urban designers and others with an interest in walking to consider ways to support and improve the pedestrian environment.
The event is part of Bristol Walk Fest 2016.
Date: Tuesday 17 May 2016
Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Venue: The Watershed (Waterside 3), Bristol.
The event is FREE but booking is required through Eventbrite.
Light refreshments will be available from 6.30pm, followed at 7.00pm by presentations from: Dr Suzanne Audrey, Senior Research Fellow in Public Health, University of Bristol; Dr Adrian Davis, Transport and Health Specialist, Bristol City Council; Jon Usher, West of England Programme Manager, Sustrans; and Ben Barker, Greater Bedminster Community Partnership.
Alan Morris, Chair of Bristol Walking Alliance, will highlight the importance of establishing Bristol Walking Alliance and our hopes for the future. From 8.00pm there will be a chance to talk informally about the walking environment in Bristol. For those who like to count their steps, Living Streets will be providing free pedometers. The event will finish at 8.30pm.
