Building a Sound Future for St George’s Bristol – Suzanne Rolt, Chief Executive, St George’s Bristol
St George’s Bristol is embarking on a £5.5million extension programme, supported by Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund, Bristol City Council, and charitable trusts.
The extension, designed by award-winning architects Patel Taylor, will give St George’s multi-purpose performance, education workshop, and venue hire spaces, as well as a new café bar and improved access. The project’s lead contractor is Galliford Try.
From October 2017, St George’s will become a full-day venue with a new interpretation and exhibition area in the Crypt that will explore the history of music and of St George’s itself. Its Main Hall will continue to attract the world’s best classical, jazz, folk and world musicians, and offer a platform to professional and amateur musicians based in Bristol.
