Here is your opportunity to step inside one of Bristol’s two synagogues and listen to a talk about the building and the Jewish faith and its festivals.
This Grade II listed building was built and consecrated in 1872. It is the third synagogue in Bristol and the first that was purpose-built. Visitors will see the Ark, a Torah scroll and other artefacts and will have their use explained. Festivals, services and the Kashrut rules, which govern what is or is not kosher, will all be covered and there will be plenty of time for questions.
The visit is at 10.30am on and will last about 90 minutes. There is no required dress or headwear, but food cannot be brought into the synagogue.
Members will be invited by email to book a place.
