Bristol Civic Society members are invited to view and learn about the Easton Mosque. The mosque is one of the oldest and most respected places for Muslims across the South West and is the largest mosque in Bristol.
Built on the site of a former school the building was converted into a mosque in 1983, and in 2017 was enlarged and embellished with a large external transparent dome. Today the mosque has a large mixed sex congregation and welcomes visitors.
Our guide Abdul Malik (Chairperson/Trustee of Easton Jamie Mosque) will talk about the mosque, and its role in the community and will happily answer question from Civic Society members.
The visit starts at 10.30am and will last for 1.5 hours. The Mosque is ‘Easton Jamia Masjid’, St Marks Rd, Easton, Bristol BS5 6J. Members will be invited by email to book a place on the walk.
